A Unique Thriller !
Taking a real life incident and weaving such a thrilling story around it is no mean task. The incident which disturbed all of us, is back to haunt us again.
‘Vettah’ is neatly written and the execution is safe in the hands of Rajesh Pillai. The story unfolds in a slow manner which can be considered the only negative in the film, but the climax portions more than make up for it. From the beginning you are on the seat’s edge, wondering what might be the possible story? You keep on making guesses after guesses only to be stunned in the end.
Even though the film’s length is less than 2 hours, you might feel a bit of slowness here and there, otherwise this could have been one of the finest thrillers of Malayalam cinema. The BGM and music by Shaan Rahman is good but sometimes it seems a bit too loud for a thriller movie.
Rajesh Pillai keeps on improving after every movie. The lead actors all have done a good job. Although I’m an admirer of Indrajith, I couldn’t take my eyes off Chackochan in this one, his smile was killer. And I don’t know why some people start to boo, when they see Manju on screen, although she didn’t give them a second chance in this one.
A well written, neatly packaged thriller that keeps you interested till the end, definitely worth a watch.
